Over-all it has limited feature-set for basic Wi-Fi scanning and signal measurement. It's most useful for getting signal strength and such, but it's not going to give you the detail of professional apps like Tamosoft, Ekahau, or AirMagnet. The G2 is the all-new version that also has a built-in LinkSprinter, plus uploading results to your cloud account. Fantastic device that should be in every WLAN pros toolbag. NetAlly AirCheck G2 Wi-Fi Test Tool Handheld tool that AutoTests quickly and provides a pass/fail assessment of wireless environment identifies common problems - for any level of Wi-Fi expertise. NetAlly acquired them a few years ago and seem to be re-investing in the platform. Unfortunately, it has not seen regular updates in several years. NetAlly AirMagnet Popular, and widley used survey/design software. BIG CAVEAT - this only a DESIGN tool, not a Survey/Analysis tool. This is serious software with serious visuals like true 3D graphics. Their bread and butter has been as a design tool for the cellular industry, so it was only natural for them to tackle the WiFi market. IBwave They've been around for a while, but only started making waves in the WiFi world in the past few years. SpecAn it stored right in the survey file so you can actually walk through a survey file and see the spectrum. Also, supports Spectrum Analysis using MetaGeeks Wi-Spy adapter, or super-cool Ekahau SideKick. Additionally, there is both a patch tool and a clone stamp.Ekahau Pro My personal favorite survey and design tool, and the one my company has standardized on. You can adjust the size and hardness of the spot heal, and brush over unwanted elements as you’d expect. I would rate Photoshop Fix’s healing tools on par with TouchRetouch. Adobe knows photos, and that experience shows in each app. Like TouchRetouch, Photoshop Fix is a dedicated retouching tool. App Store: Free (Offers In-App Purchases) Adobe Photoshop Fix So each heal is noticeable unless they are small. It doesn’t match the surrounding area very well it’s more like a blur. Instead, there is a circular window that you can resize and place it on the image. Enlight has a heal brush, and a patch tool, which is essentially a clone stamp. I didn’t find Enlight’s heal tool particularly great, but it is a bit better than Snapseed’s tool. It combines Photoshop-esque tools with the filters of a more basic editing app. I’ve moved away from it over the past year, but it’s still a great app to edit your photos. App Store: Free EnlightĮnlight is another multi-purpose editing tool. But Snapseed has other good tools, and that’s why I’ve kept it in my iPhone. There are no advanced healing tools either, such as a clone stamp or lasso. But for bigger things, you’ll find that the heal screws up the image. If you want to remove a small pimple, piece of dust, or anything else, it’s fine. Now, in my experience, I’ll say it up front: it’s not very good for removing large objects. Among a big selection of tools, Snapseed has a healing brush. Snapseed is a great multi-purpose photo editor by Google. Pixelmator is a great app for graphic designers, artists, and photographers. And there is a clone stamp that lets you copy a certain area of an image and brush that area over a different area. There is a basic repair tool that lets you brush over unwanted things in a photo. In my use of it, Pixelmator’s repair tool is excellent. Pixelmator is an alternative to Photoshop, and it has great editing tools. For such a power app, App Store: US$1.99 Pixelmator It matches the area you selected, and is usually more subtle. Finally, clone stamp lets you select a part of your image as a source, then brush over another area. Line removal lets you quickly swipe over fences, power lines, or other straight elements to remove them. Next, quick repair lets you make small, fast repairs one at a time. You brush over the areas, then tap the Go button. Object removal lets you remove multiple objects from an image. Editing falls under four categories: object removal, quick repair, line removal, and clone stamp. TouchRetouch is a great photo retouching app, and the one I use the most.
